Isadora Vail was a reporter for two major newspapers in Central Texas before she turned 25.
She began writing professionally for a bilingual publication, Conexión, in San Antonio. There she established a weekly column about local combat soldiers called “Fuerzas Amadas.”
As an intern for the San Antonio-Express News, she covered education reform in 2006 and an incredibly unique gubernatorial race during a special session of the Texas Legislature.
Most recently she was a crime and public safety reporter for the Austin American-Statesman. She covered high-profile cases including the sentencing of Laura Hall, the shooting of Nathaniel Sanders, and the appeal of Rodney Reed.Isadora left the world of newspapers in September 2011 to begin a freelancing career.
